Mohit Chauhan. This name doesn't need any further introduction among music maniac
people especially if you love humming romantic Hindi songs. Some people may associate
the owner of the melodious voice with his recent hits, but for those who have walked
along his musical journey, he is a phenomenal singer. Luckily, I am one of them
who have hummed his 'Dooba Dooba'
from his Silk Route days, back in the late nineties. And, I have been following
this man with simple looks when he once again noticeably resumed his second
inning in music with another music maestro A.R. Rahman with movie Rang de Basanti. Being my favourite of
recent time, I always wanted to be somewhere under the sky where I could listen
to his songs. So, the report of his arrival to Nepal was of immense pleasure and
something to cheer up for me. I was ready to attend the much-awaited concert alone.
Luckily, I found three other Mohit lovers – Sanskriti, Sunil and Anurodh :P And, the sunny
Saturday came. There was no bound for my excitement, which was similar to every
other music lover filled in the Tundikhel ground. To be honest, I was not
expecting such huge crowd. However, the milieu inside the enclosed area was
giving a rhythmic vibe. Every eye was looking for one and only man. The crowd only
expected the man of the moment – Mohit. And, the man with mesmerizing voice stood
up to the expectation with his very first song of the evening. Mohit opted to
go with chilling weather and respecting the beautiful Nepali crowd when he
kicked off the evening with 'Chiso Chiso
Hawale.' A music lover doesn't need anything more when the star from far
land, whom you admire, sings in your own language. The crowd already spellbound
by Mohit's simple but elegant presence on the stage was further taken on a
harmonious journey.

A slight improvisation
in the original composition was compelling the music lovers grow much fonder of
his musical brilliance and living them enthralled. Every other song was another
pleasant treat.
A youth
anthem Sadda Haq echoed in the open
area, resembling the voice of unheard and ignored mass. We must applaud Mohit'
sense of reading the mindset of the gathered crowd and serving them with what
they want. Once again, Mohit proved why he is a star and loved by so many when
he sung another celebrated Nepali song – Resham firiri. And, as they say something
that starts well also ends well. Magical Mohit wrapped up the show with a song
full of hope and life, giving everyone reason to go after their dreams.
It was the
evening of my life. Mesmerising and melodious Mohit stole the show with his
soothing songs one after another. I'd have lost a beautiful and memorable
evening of my life, had I not been there. It was a show worth spending money
for me and I guess for many who spent hours under the open sky. Rather it was
the night where you are paid back your every penny with spectacular
performances. So am I. Indebted to Mohit Chauhan. A big THANK YOU musical
maestro MOHIT. Nepal loves you.
The musical
ride began with 'Jo Bhi Main' from
Rockstar movie, which is supposed to be a landmark in his entire career. With
this song, he made everyone realize their hapless condition of not expressing their
thoughts. When he hummed his one of the most celebrated song of his life – Tum Se Hi – the elated crowd utilized the
moment to acknowledge their loved ones for filling their lives with so much love
and happiness. The romantic evening turned into a nostalgic one with 'Yeh Dooriyan' when people like me
longed for their loved ones living far. Another hit from hit-factory Mohit – Kuch Khass – gave people confirmation for
being in love if they were blurred about the wonderful feeling. The title track
of Barfi movie in his lovely voice urged
everyone to be happy and be barfi. And,
how he could miss the song that gave him all the success – Dooba Dooba –which escorted everyone some years back. Then, it was
time to pay homage to Pashupatinath, and
Mohit did it in his style. Another cheery song Masakali gave everyone wings as if they were ready to take off.'Pee
loon' intoxicated already soaked thousands of spectators.
A perfect write up mate... and for a fantastic guy there. keep it up (y)
