Nepal stuck on their winning string as they completed their third consecutive victory in the ongoing ACC U-16 Elite Cup 2012 being held in Malaysia    after hammering Iran by massive 167 runs. Opting to bat first at the Bayuemas Oval Ground of Malaysia, Nepal posted a formidable total of 246 after losing their eight wickets playing all allotted 4o overs. In reply, Iranian batsmen surrendered to Nepalese sharp bowling attack as they were slumped on mere 79 runs after losing their surrender nine wickets in 28 overs, while one Iranian batsman Zobeir Afarin was retired hurt. Malaysia defeated Kuwait by 16 runs to cruise into the semifinals after topping the table with 6 points. Opting to bat first Bahrain were bowled out on 141 runs in 39.5 overs. In reply, Deependra and Nurdhoj guided Nepal safely to the target in 21.2 overs losing only two wickets. With the win against Bahrain Nepal continued their winning streak in the tournament. The strong contender of the title Nepal got off the mark with a convincing 78 run victory over Kuwait in the ACC U-16 Elite Cup at the Bayuemas Oval Ground in Kuala Lumpur on Friday. Nepal started their journey to the title riding on some excellent performance with bat and bowl from their players. It was Nepal’s second successive triumph over the familiar opponent Kuwait in the ACC U-16 Elite Cup history. Earlier, Nepal had hammered Kuwait by 101 runs in their first encounter in the first edition of the tournament held in Kathmandu in 2010, where Nepal had secured the runner-up place after losing to Singapore. It was the occasion; Das received his first salary after playing for nation for more than a decade.
